Cookie Policy
DRAFT – requires review by a Philippine lawyer before launch. This is a first draft. It is not legal advice and it is not final. Questions: the contact form.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. "Local storage" is a similar place in your browser. This policy explains which ones Hostactor uses on its panel and order pages. It is part of our Privacy Notice.
1. Essential cookies
These are needed for the panel to work and for your security. They cannot be switched off in our settings, because without them you could not sign in or place an order.
| Name | Where | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| HASESSID | The whole panel | Keeps you signed in, protects forms against forgery, and keeps the order you are placing | Until you close the browser |
| HACART | Order pages | A random ID of an order you started, so you can continue it later | 30 days |
| Consent cookie | Order pages, where the tools in section 3 are used | Remembers your choice about analytics and marketing tools, or that you have seen the notice | Up to 12 months |
2. Browser storage
| Name | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| wing-a11y | Remembers your choices in the accessibility menu (text size, contrast and similar). It stays in your browser and is not sent to us. | Until you reset the menu or clear your browser data |
| ha-privacy-ack-v1 | On our website: remembers that you closed the privacy notice, so it is not shown again. It stays in your browser and is not sent to us. | Until you clear your browser data |
| ha-a11y | On our website: remembers your choices in the accessibility menu. It stays in your browser and is not sent to us. | Until you reset the menu or clear your browser data |
3. Analytics and marketing tools
On our public order pages only (never in your customer area or our admin), we may use tools that measure how the pages are used and how well our advertising works. Depending on what is set up, these can include Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel. They set their own cookies, and the providers process the data under their own privacy policies.
- These tools receive information such as the page visited, the steps of an order, a plan, a domain ending (not the full domain), order numbers and amounts. We never send them your name, e-mail address, phone number, card details or full domain names.
- Depending on our setting, these tools either start only after you agree in the cookie banner, or run with a notice that tells you about them. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it first.
4. Your choices
- Where the cookie banner offers a choice, you can change it at any time with cookie settings.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block essential cookies, signing in and ordering will not work.
- You can also limit advertising tools in your Google and Meta account settings, and install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
5. Changes
We update this policy when we change the cookies or tools we use. Every version is kept on the legal documents page.
